Still completing dossier!

At one point it feels like we are making great progress and then it seems things come to a great stand still! I have a feeling it will be like this for the rest of the journey!
We sent all our documents to Lansing two weeks ago. We are expecting them back any day - then on to Chicago (this will be a much shorter turnaround). Once they are back from Chicago they will be sent to our agency. There is a form we had to send to the USCIS (formerly INS) to apply for approval to bring an orphan into the country. We couldn't send it in until the Home Study report was complete. It will take anywhere from 4-10 weeks to receive the approval in the mail. We cannot be put on the referral list until we have this approval. So best case scenario - we will be on the list for a referral by the middle of June and then it's at least a 4 month wait to receive the referral. From referral it is still another 6-8 months to bring her home! So it will likely still be a year from right now until we would travel to Guatemala.
The last few weeks, I have had a strong sense of peace about the waiting. There is really nothing I can do right now to make anything move along - so I guess that has actually helped me relax. Sometimes, I get anxious about all the timing, but then I remember that it will all happen in just the right timing for our family!
Every once in a while David will announce to people that we are getting a baby girl from "GuatemEla". A boy in his class had a baby sister last week - he said he wished that he had a little girl that would live in his house. I reminded him, that in the next year or so he would have a sister. He said "of my very own, to live with us?" He was quite excited at this realization.
