NEW PICTURES AND STILL WAITING!

Here she is - our little sweetie! Getting new pictures is such a huge lift! This was taken on May 17th and we found out that at her doctor's visit on May 8th, she weighed 12 lbs and was 24 inches long. She is wearing another outfit that we sent to down to her back in February. This is the one that Steven helped me pick out - so that is extra special!
After going through two pretty tough weeks, I seem to be coping better this week. I have had a number of people tell me this week that they are praying for us and I can tell that God is giving us strength this week. There is not much news out of Guatemala. A trickle of cases are being released. We figure something has got to give soon, as there must be just a huge backload of cases at this point.
Steven has been mentioning Rebecca more and more lately. We were driving to someone's house and he asked if they live in "Gualemawa". It was the first time he has ever said that! Then he said, "Rebecca lives in Gualemawa"!
We just keep hoping that phone call will come anyday! It looks like we will have to get our fingerprints redone as they expire in July. Another hoop to jump through!
Hopefully more news to report soon!

THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART...

We basically have nothing new to report! I had a pretty rough week emotionally! Everything is so out of our control - all we can do is wait for the phone to ring!
There was some promising news out of Guatemala mid-week. Apparently the new head of PGN agreed to meet with the adoption attorneys. He all but admitted that they are not releasing the files because of some political issues. The attorneys allegedly convinced him that the law he is waiting on to pass (related to adoption reform and not good for adoptions) is not going to pass and he supposedly agreed to release the cases. There have been more cases released this week, than since March, but not the "flood" that I was hoping for.
I am looking forward to Mother's Day weekend - I am going on an all-day retreat tomorrow and looking forward to being with family on Sunday. I knew there was an outside chance that Rebecca would be with us for Mother's Day, but I didn't have my heart set on it. Now Father's Day - that's a different story!
I can't wait to have good news to post or pictures to share! Until then, still learning to trust God in the waiting!
